Are you using one of Amped's mini quiz campaigns to collect information on your visitors when they see the popup? Do you need to segment users out in Klaviyo based on the campaign they saw on your site?

You can use Amped + Klaviyo segments to accomplish this!

πŸ€” Why Do This: Some Use Cases

  1. Mini Quiz Answer Segmentation

  2. Special Campaigns Segmentation

Maybe you're asking users what their preferred product is on your site, or how they best describe themselves as a visitor... Maybe you're doing a special giveaway and need all users who see that campaign to funnel into a specific segment to select a winner.

As long as you have the button action of "set user property" added to your CTA in Amped, it will automatically feed into Klaviyo as a "custom profile property".

This allows you to create specific targeted messages to your subscribers based on their preferences/properties about themselves/interests/campaign they saw, etc.!

πŸ€“ How To Create Your Segment

  • In this example we will be using a mini quiz campaign and looking at how to segment users based on the answer choice they selected in the campaign

🚨 Step 1 takes place in Amped editor then all next steps happen in Klaviyo

  1. Locate the Preference CTA's that reveal what the Name and Values are for the data you're wanting to segment

    1. 🌟 The name will be identical on all button choices + the value is preset to be the text filled inside the button

      1. Ex: Name = Amped - Interest // Value = Softgels

  2. Login to your Klaviyo Account

  3. Navigate to Lists & Segments

    • From the main dashboard, click on "Lists & Segments" in the left sidebar.

  4. Click the "Create List / Segment" button and select "Segment"

  5. Name Your Segment

    • Give your segment a name that ties into the custom property you are checking for. For example, if you are using the "Amped - Interest" property, name it something like "Amped Interest: _______ Segment"

  6. Define the Segment Conditions

    • In the "Definition" section, select "Properties about someone" from the dropdown menu

    • Search for the custom property you want to use. For example, if the property is "Amped - Preference", type it in the search bar.

  7. Set the Property Value

    • Select the specific value you are targeting. For example, if you want to segment users based on product interest, select the appropriate value, such as "Softgels" or "Tinctures".

      • 🚨 Note: You can add multiple conditions by using the "or" option to include different values, ensuring your segment captures all relevant profiles.

  8. Click "Create Segment" once you've set up your conditions

πŸŽ‰ DONE!

Now that your segment is built it will not only continually update as more users are added to it who fall into the definition created, but you can also target these users with specific email campaigns based on these properties if you choose 😊
