Creating and using custom properties in Amped is easy to do and can be a great way to collect + segment your visitors out based on mini quiz selections or specific offers, ensuring they get added to the right welcome flow for A/B tests, sales and more!

π€ Adding a Custom Property to Email Capture Step
π¨ If A/B testing your offer in Amped (or launching a campaign for a specific sale, etc). this is best as it can help segment your visitors out in different welcome flows, based on the offer they saw.
Navigate to the Primary CTA Button on the Email Capture step of your campaign in the Amped Editor > "Button Actions"
Click "Customize" > "Add a profile property"
Here is where you'll give the Name and Value of the property you want to send
Once this is setup in your campaign, the property will be added to the profiles in Klaviyo when their email is submitted
Now that the properties are available in your Klaviyo account, you can use these as conditional logic on your welcome flow, to ensure that users see the right welcome messaging without having to change the list they're sent to!
π Ex: All users get sent to the "Newsletter" list w/ conditional split if Properties about someone include Amped - Offer = 20back they will see a specific welcome flow with the 20back offer in their email π
π Custom Profile Properties on Mini Quizzes in Amped
In Amped, if you're using a mini quiz template the custom properties setup on step 1 of the design will already be setup for you!
These properties will automatically flow through to Klaviyo with a users profile when they submit their email address, nothing more you need to do!
π€ If you are changing the mini quiz question + answer choices
Ensure that you update the "Name" of all buttons to match the question so you can segment users accordingly in Klaviyo -- Ex:
Question = "Let us know what you're browsing for today"
Preference CTA custom property name "Amped - Browsing"
Preference CTA custom property value will automatically be set to use the text in the button as the value. If you update the text in the CTA, the value will change!
π₯ If you don't want to use the CTA text as the button value
You can easily update this by toggling off the "Use text as value" setting, which will allow you to custom define each button value.
This can become useful if you are already segmenting users out by product choices in Klaviyo email flows, and want users to fall into those existing categories based on their mini quiz selection from step 1.
