Integrating Mailchimp with Amped allows you to seamlessly sync email and SMS subscribers from Amped directly into your Mailchimp lists. This guide will walk you through generating a Mailchimp API key and adding it to Amped.

πŸ”‘ Generating an API Key from Mailchimp

1.) Go to your Mailchimp API Keys:

  • From inside, Mailchimp go the top right corner of the dashboard and select the Profile option from the dropdown menu.

  • Choose Extras and then API keys from the subsequent options.

2.) Create API Key:

  • Click on Create A Key.

  • Name your API key to make it easily identifiable as connected to Amped, for example, "Amped".

  • Mailchimp will generate a new API key. Copy this key and you will need to paste it inside of Amped

πŸ”Œ Adding your Mailchimp API Key to Amped

1.) Navigate to Integrations:

  • From inside of your Amped account, click on the top right menu, then the Account dropdown, and select Integrations.

2.) Connect Mailchimp:

  • Scroll through the list of available integrations until you find Mailchimp.

  • Click on Connect next to Mailchimp.

3.) Enter API Key:

  • In the popup window, paste the API key you copied from Mailchimp.

  • Click Connect.

4.) Select Default List:

  • After entering your API key, you'll be prompted to choose a default list (audience) where new contacts will be added.

  • Select your preferred list and confirm by clicking Connect again.

5.) Confirmation:

  • Once successfully connected, a confirmation message will display, and new contacts from Amped will automatically start syncing to your selected Mailchimp audience.

β€‹πŸŽ‰ You did it!

πŸ› οΈ Advanced - Sending Mini Quiz or Custom User Input from Amped to Mailchimp Merge Fields

If you would like to send mini quiz options from Amped or a custom input field to a Merge field in Mailchimp you can simply set the name of the property in Amped to match the Merge Field "Tag" name.

Finding the Merge Field Tag Names

You can view your Audience's merge fields by going All contacts β†’ Settings β†’ Audience fields & *MERGE* tags

On the Merge field you would like to use, notice the "Tag" for that Merge field, you will want to use that short text version in the input field.

If you're adding a new Merge Field, it's easiest to use the "Text" type but you can really use any type.

Matching the property name or input name in Amped to match your Mailchimp Merge field.

If you're setting up a "mini quiz" or setting a user property from a button click, navigate to the button's actions and find the "Set User Property" action. You will see the property name.

This same principle applies if you are using a custom input field, simply match the name of the field in Amped to the tag name of the Merge Field in Mailchimp.

βœ… Once you've published, this will flow directly into Mailchimp if there is a matching Merge Field Tag that matches the property name from Amped.

This article is still being updated but with Amped you can also:

  • Changing the Audience / List between Campaigns in Amped

  • Adding Tags (to all contacts added) or only from specific Campaigns in Amped
