πŸ”Œ Activating the Postscript Onsite Opt-in "OOI" Amped Integration

πŸ—οΈ Configuring Onsite Opt-in Campaigns from a Template or Existing Campaign

βœ… Nitty Gritty - DO NOT check "Only send to new subscribers" in Reply Actions on Keywords

Let's roll!

πŸ”Œ Activating the Postscript Onsite Opt-in Integration in Amped

1) Navigate to Integrations -> and then click on Connect Postscript

2) You'll now need a private API key from Postscript to enter into Amped

3) Sign into Postscript and from the Postscript Dashboard, head to your Account Settings by clicking on the menu item with the βš™οΈ Gear icon

4.) Under settings go to API, and then click on "Create Security Key Pair" - Note, you do no want to use the Legacy API Key

5.) Copy the Private Key, and that's all you need from Postscript. Next you'll go back to your Amped account to activate Postscript.

Copy only the Private API Key

6.) Paste in your Private API Key from Postscript into the Amped Postscript integration page (will start with "sk_....")

And pick a default Keyword to add new subscribers to (you can change this in Campaigns later too)

βœ… Once you hit Connect, the integration will now be activated!

πŸ—οΈ Already using Postscript with Amped before OOI?

You will see a legacy Postscript integration already on in your account. You will need to activate the one that does not say "legacy".

Then you can use the Postscript Onsite Opt-in Campaigns!

Now that the integration is active, you need to make sure that your campaigns are configured correctly!

πŸ—οΈ Setting up Onsite Opt-in Campaigns in Amped

🟒 Easiest Method = use a template already configured with Onsite Opt-in

🟑 Advanced Difficult = converting an existing campaign to Onsite Opt-in

🟒 Using an Onsite Opt-in ready Template

1.) Simply navigate to amped.io/onsite#templates and pick a template to start!

2.) In the campaign you will notice there are 3 new button actions

Phone capture step uses - "Subscribe Onsite Opt-in"

On the Phone Capture step primary CTA will have 2 Button Actions

  1. Capture Data (the usual button action when collecting data)

  2. Postscript Onsite Opt In

Subscribe Onsite Opt-in has several options:

πŸ‘† On the Subscribe Onsite Opt-in Button Action, you have several options that need to be set. Be sure to configure them like this:

  • On Subscribe Actions:

    • Go to Step Verify Code Step

    • Assign a keyword

  • If already existing subscriber:

    • Go to step Confirmation Step

      • This assumes you want an existing subscriber to also be shown the discount or confirmation, alternatively you could send them to a different step but be sure NOT to send them to the Verify step

    • Assign a keyword (recommended)

Verify step - uses "Verify Onsite Opt-in"

Verify step - also has "Resend Onsite Opt-in"

Now that you copied in a template that already uses Onsite Opt-in and know how it works, be sure to setup the keywords you would like to be set on the Subscribe Onsite Opt-in Button Action and you're all set!

You can publish this Campaign as normal and start testing!

🟑 Converting an existing Amped Campaign to Onsite Opt-in

This guide is an advanced guide on converting existing Amped campaigns over to Onsite Opt-in functionality. It's easier to start with a template (described above) but if you feel comfortable making edits in Amped you might want to convert your existing campaign to Onsite Opt-in and we're going to show you how to do that!

If you need assistance converting an existing Amped campaign over to Onsite Opt-in functionality, please reach out to [email protected] and we are more than happy to help you with this conversion!

Steps to converting an existing Campaign over to Onsite Opt-in Functionality

Let's first setup the campaign visually and then we will go back in and add in button actions to make this all work.

1.) Create a "Verify code" step that will collect the 2fa that is step upon opt-ing in. We strongly recommend copying an existing step to start with as a base:

If you've been using "Reply Y", that is a good step to copy.

2.) Now you'll want to rename the first Reply Y step by double clicking on the Reply Y step and naming it something like "Verify code"

3.) Go ahead and rename the remaining "Reply Y" step to "Confirmation"

4.) Now you'll want to setup the form on the Verify step. We strongly recommend to copy this from a template so you don't have to setup all of the elements manually.

You can do this by navigating to an Onsite Opt-in Template and copying the container that holds all of the content, usually named "Verify OTP Container". Select this layer and hit CMD + C. (or CTRL C on Windows)

Then navigate back to your existing campaign and on the Verify step you'll want to select a layer inside the main content container of your Campaign and hit CMD + V to paste in the Verify OTP Container

Now you can delete the other layer that had the Reply Y copy and begin styling the pasted elements to match your design:

5.) Once you have finished styling your campaign, you will now want to add in the Button Actions that make Onsite Opt-in work.

If you have enabled the Postscript integration, then you will see 3 new Button Actions are now available.

  • Subscribe Onsite Opt-in

  • Verify Onsite Opt-in

  • Resend Onsite Opt-in

5a.) On the Phone Capture step, navigate the primary CTA's button actions and make sure it has "Capture Data" and also add in "Subscribe Onsite Opt-in". Be sure to remove any go to Step action

πŸ‘† On the Subscribe Onsite Opt-in Button Action, you have several options that need to be set. Be sure to configure them like this:

  • On Subscribe Actions:

    • Go to Step Verify Code Step

    • Assign a keyword

  • If already existing subscriber:

    • Go to step Confirmation Step

      • This assumes you want an existing subscriber to also be shown the discount or confirmation, alternatively you could send them to a different step but be sure NOT to send them to the Verify step

    • Assign a keyword (recommended)

5b) Then on the Verify step, confirm that the Verify CTA button has Verify Onsite Opt-in as the only Button Action:

5c) And finally, check the resend code button action and confirm that it too has the Resend Onsite Opt-in Button Action

Once you have all of your styling changes completed and the 3 button actions configured you are ready to publish!

If you would like for us to take a look at your Campaign setup to make sure you got it setup correctly please do not hesitate to email us at [email protected] and ideally give us the URL of the campaign you are configuring so we can jump right in with you!

βœ… Nitty Gritty - DO NOT check "Only send to new subscribers" in Reply Actions on Keywords

If you are adding subscribers to a Keyword in Postscript that has a Reply Action in the Keyword, DO NOT check the checkbox "Only send to New Subscribers" as this will prevent this Reply Action from sending

Why? Technically when added through Onsite Opt-in they are "new" at the time of Onsite Opt-in and then they are added to the Keyword after but they did not enter Postscript through the Keyword.

πŸ‘† These Reply Actions can be set in the Keyword which show up here:
